Fans will likely be split as Spurs consider potential record-breaking deal

Following yesterday’s wonderful 6-1 win over Leicester City, the Tottenham Hotspur fans in the Transfer Tavern are in high spirits.

The local Lilywhites propping up the bar are absolutely delighted that there will be no repeat of last season’s fall at the final hurdle, making them all the more excited for next season.

Still, though Spurs are really only a few minor tweaks here and there from truly challenging for the Premier League title, a number of their best players continue to be linked with a move away.

So, reports from the Daily Mail have split opinion amongst our north London locals today. They’ve revealed the club are open to the idea of selling England international Kyle Walker this summer, amid strong links with a move to Manchester City.

They will reportedly consider allowing the 26-year-old to leave for around £45m should a potential suitor wish to pay that sort of money, a world record sum for a full-back.

Though some of the Tottenham fans in the Tavern would hate to see Walker depart, others reckon such a sum of money should be taken for a right-back.
