Forget Martial: Tottenham should make a bold move for this £45m-rated England star instead

The Tottenham Hotspur fans here in the Transfer Tavern are absolutely delighted about the fact they secured Champions League football. Indeed, a late season slip up looked to allow Chelsea in, though their recent win over Newcastle United ensured a safe return to the European elite.

Now, investment in the squad is needed during the summer transfer window if Spurs are to challenge Manchester City for the Premier League title next year. Interestingly, reports suggest that Pochettino will make a move for Manchester United’s Anthony Martial.

However, instead of targeting Martial, Spurs should instead focus on his United team-mate – Marcus Rashford. The 20-year-old emerged as one of the top prospects in England after breaking into the United first team and is valued at £45m by Transfermarkt. Rashford has started just 16 Premier League games with the arrival of Alexis Sanchez set to push him further down the pecking order.

Reports suggest Rashford could seek a summer exit in search of first-team football and Tottenham could be a potential destination. Pochettino has a reputation of developing youngsters into world-class stars meaning Wembley could be the perfect home for the England international.

As you can imagine, the idea of Pochettino working to improve Rashford as he has done with the likes of Dele Alli has seriously excited the punters propping up our bar.

Indeed, alongside Harry Kane, Rashford would be a frightening proposition.
