Tottenham fans here in the Tavern wait on in excitement as the potential return for one of the former fan favourites edges ever closer.
Having suffered a demoralizing defeat away at the Emirates against bitter rivals Arsenal in the North London Derby last weekend, this Spurs side were looking to improve on things as they headed into their next fixture against relegation battling West Bromwich Albion.
However, this also didn’t go to plan, resulting in a 1-1 draw which left the surrounding clubs gaining valuable ground on the Lilywhites, with victories in their respective games.
Yet, there was still something positive to come out of the weekend’s action, due to Mauricio Pochettino revealing Erik Lamela is set to make his return in their tough away fixture at Claude Puel’s Leicester City.
After spending the previous 13 months out injured with a hip injury, the Argentine will hope to resurrect his class shown in previous seasons to help aid the progression towards a repeat feat of a top 4 finish this season.
In being cautious to bring himself back into the Premier League schedule, Lamela has repeatedly extended the wait for Spurs fans, but now believes that he is fully fit, and ready to tackle the challenge head-on.
Here’s a look at what Pochettino said when delivering his latest injury update, which can be found on Tottenham’s social media platform of Twitter.

After a sustained period of time spent on the sidelines, it’s now over to Lamela to display the talents that all fans in North London know he is capable off. Being greeted with excitement and happiness is what has come of the news of the Argentine’s return filtering into the pub, it’s just down to him to make them proud.
See what fans had to say down below…
Crazy to think we never saw Lamela in a 3-4-2-1 formation, considering he would suit perfect in his role
