‘He has a lot potential’ – Tottenham fans react on Twitter with £2.7m-rated African linked to club

Tottenham fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reacting to a report in The Sun that claims the club’s hierarchy are weighing up a move for Amadou Haidara. Haidara has impressed both domestically and in Europe, for RB Salzburg, this season, recently helping his side overcome Borussia Dortmund in the Europa League round-of-sixteen.

The 20-year-old has been valued at £2.7 million by the good people over at Transfermarkt and has been a key staple in a dangerous Salzburg side. Haidara has featured 42 times for the Austrian outfit. scoring five times. The Malian, who already has two caps to his name, has been likened to RB Leipzig’s Liverpool bound midfielder, Naby Keita, for his dynamic midfield displays and could be joining Keita in moving to the Premier League as Tottenham look to be preparing a bid.

Tottenham have a number of talents in central midfield in Mousa Dembele, Harry Winks, Victor Wanyama and Dele Alli. However, Mauricio Pochettino obviously sees something in the young Haidara as he already seems to be looking ahead to bolster his squad for the 2018/19 season. In the meantime though, the Lilywhites propping our bar up will be focusing on the rest of the season as they look to cement their place in the top four and continue their march in the FA Cup.
