Our Tottenham fans here in the Transfer Tavern can’t wait to see how their side does next season as they aim to win the Premier League title.
Spurs once again came close to winning the league last year but were pipped by Chelsea, of course.
Even so, they will be confident that they can get close again but will feel that it could be tougher with the likes of the Manchester clubs set to spend big.
For sure, then, Spurs will also need to sign some players and we reckon one area they could do with some extra strength is out wide.
Indeed, they don’t have a direct, rapid winger that is going to transform attacks and give them a different dimension that is good enough to play week in week out and that’s why we think a move for Quincy Promes could be ideal.
The explosive Spartak Moscow winger is more than capable of beating a man and would certainly buy into Mauricio Pochettino’s pressing style with the way he gets about the pitch from the front.
He’s good for a goal or two, too, and would provide real competition for the likes of Christian Eriksen and Heung-Min Son – which can be no bad thing.
Spurs really are about two players from waltzing to a league title given the way they plan and we think signing Promes would be one half of that complete.
