Interesting transfer report for Tottenham fans as club look to end signing drought

Though Tottenham Hotspur managed to win their Premier League season opener, the punters propping up the bar in the Transfer Tavern are convinced signings need to be made.

Indeed, the north London outfit are the only Premier League side not to have made an addition over the course of the summer and our local Lillywhites desperately hope that changes very soon.

So, reports from the Daily Mirror have gone down well. They claim Spurs are paying increasingly close attention to Keita Balde of Lazio, after he was dropped for theirSupercoppa Italiana win over Juventus.

The 22-year-old has been linked with a move away from Rome this summer, with both Juve and Inter Milan understood to be keen, though Tottenham are said to be interested in the forward.

He has just a year left on his deal in the Italian capital and even criticised I Biancocelesti for leaving him out of the clash with the Old Lady.

Having struggled to buy attackers over the last few seasons, Balde could hopefully provide Tottenham fans with excitement on the wings.

Landlord’s Verdict:

Perhaps the Senealgese could finally give Pochettino options in wide areas, outside of his current starting XI. Money has been wasted on the likes of Clinton N’Jie and Georges-Kevin N’koudou in recent seasons, so it’s important the club get it right.

Heading into his final year with Lazio, this could be a deal worth exploring for Spurs.
