It’s been a slow summer for the Tottenham Hotspur fans in the Transfer Tavern, who’ve yet to see Mauricio Pochettino make any additions to a squad that finished second in the league last term.
Many of our north London locals would agree that Spurs don’t need a raft of new additions, though a few clever tweaks to the playing staff here and there would certainly be a welcome sight. Still, they need to be the right kind of players to fit into the Argentine’s unique set-up.
With that in mind, comments from the Daily Mirror’s Darren Lewis have proved interesting. He’s revealed that those from Hotspur Way aren’t keen on a move for Leicester City attacker Riyad Mahrez, despite links with the player.
Despite reports in France Spurs are not in for Riyad Mahrez. Never been in their sights. @MirrorFootball

The Algerian, who helped lead the Foxes to the Premier League title in 2015/16, has been touted as a potential target at White Hart Lane Wembley, though Lewis claims the player has never been in Spurs’ sights.
While he endured a disappointing campaign last time out, few would doubt Mahrez’s supreme quality and his match-winning ability would be a welcome sight, if you asked our resident Tottenham supporters.
Still, in Pochettino they trust.
Thoughts?
