Jean-Kevin Augustin as back-up to Kane would be brilliant for Spurs

Jean-Kevin Augustin as back-up to Kane would be brilliant for Spurs

Tottenham will want to take their confidence in progressing through to the next stage into the Champions League when they return to league action.

After a brilliant draw away in Barcelona, Tottenham have restored confidence in themselves as they remain a tough obstacle for any team to pass.

Now, Spurs will be hoping to keep that form going in the Premier League and you never know, with the right signings during the January transfer window, the sky is the limit for this talented Tottenham team.

A weak spot would arguably be in the back-up to Harry Kane, with Fernando Llorente failing to recapture the form he has shown in years gone by.

With it being likely Llorente could move on from Spurs, they should look at upgrading by signing RB Leipzig’s Jean-Kevin Augustin.

The French forward, (who is valued at £22.5 million on Transfermarkt) is performing extremely well out in Germany and has been ever since he joined from PSG in 2017.

With 12 goals in his first season and already eight this time around, Augustin has proven that despite his young age, he can hold his own up-front.

Should Tottenham complete a transfer to bring Augustin to London, he could learn to better his game whilst training and playing with Harry Kane.

At 21, there is still so much more Jean-Kevin Augustin could add to his game in order to get better and playing at Tottenham could give him the platform he needs to be a future star.

He has a massive future in football and Tottenham would be very sensible to identify that and bring him to the club sooner rather than later.
