Tottenham remain in with a chance of finishing in the top four, despite a poor recent run of form.

Whilst currently a solid number of points ahead of Arsenal in fifth place, Tottenham have some breathing space but they know better than anyone that gap can quickly get smaller if they fail to perform.

With no new faces over the past two transfer windows, it's no wonder why Spurs have recently gone a bit stale and that has to be amended in the summer.

The way to compete with title challengers Liverpool and Manchester City is to spend like they do. Although some may say they're buying the league, Tottenham fans would surely also love to see hefty investment which suggests they're willing to battle, in order to try and gain some silverware.

If Mauricio Pochettino gets the financial backing he deserves, a player he should look to acquire straight away is Hoffenheim's Kerem Demirbay.

Demirbay, (who is valued at £18 million on Transfermarkt) has enjoyed a very successful season on a personal level and has already been linked with a switch to England.

The 25-year-old's talent has not gone unnoticed and Tottenham should be one of their clubs that seriously affirms any interest.

Playing in a central-midfield role, Demirbay has four goals and six assists to his name this season, which alone suggests why he would make such a good signing for Tottenham.

The German international is more than capable of playing in a more defensive or attacking midfield role and would add to Tottenham's midfield significantly.

Most of their concerns would be in the middle of the park and with the one signing of Kerem Demirbay alone, he would improve the current options Pochettino has to choose from.
