Landing £10.8m-rated Argentina forward would be Tottenham’s best transfer move in ages

The Tottenham fans in amongst the Transfer Tavern are hoping soon to be blessed with some new signings, capable of standing out inside their new stadium.

The long await for the new stadium to be unveiled is almost over but Spurs first need to recruit some top players to fill that stadium with. Squad depth has been a long-standing issue with Tottenham and with the side playing Champions League football again this season, they need to properly add a variety of options into their squad in order to challenge more substantially for silverware. Having enjoyed a great season with Marseille, our punters believe that Lucas Ocampos, (who is valued at £10.8 million on Transfermarkt) would be a worthwhile addition to strengthen Tottenham’s attacking play.

The 23-year-old has been moving from club to club for a while now, not finding his true form to gain a permanent home. However that all changed last season for the Argentinian, having scored 16 goals in all competitions, inspiring Marseille towards the Europa League final. Tottenham have a lack of options should any of their attackers face injury, so securing the signature of a player in peak form ahead of the new season can only be viewed in a positive way.

Having spent all that money on moving homes to build for the future, they need to also ensure that they improve whats on the pitch in order to help them achieve silverware sooner rather than later. Lucas Ocampos is a player in great form and he could be a great asset for Tottenham to acquire, as someone who can add to their squad depth and challenge for a starting 11 spot.
