Landing Bernard would be Tottenham’s shrewdest move in years

Landing Bernard would be Tottenham’s shrewdest move in years

The Tottenham fans are becoming more and more worried about the fact their beloved team has still not signed a single player this window.

Despite the excitement surrounding their new stadium, fans are more worried about the lack of business around the club as the fans want to ensure Champions League qualification is possible every season. With the influx of money being pumped into the game, Tottenham must spend to stay in contention but a way to avoid a high initial fee for a player is to recruit Bernard, who is available on a free transfer.

The Brazilian winger left Shakhtar last month and has yet to find a club, despite his immense talent. Bernard last season scored 10 goals in all competitions as well as providing 4 assists for his team-mates. Stats like that prove Bernard could be a great acquisition for money-shy Tottenham and at the age of 25, still has years ahead to improve his game with Spurs.

Tottenham have their starting line-up sorted but the lack of squad depth is alarming, especially with all the extra cup competitions the club will be involved with this season. Bernard is a player alongside fellow Brazilian Lucas Moura that could provide width, quality and trickery on the wing should Tottenham wish to rotate their side in the league and cup competitions.

His value is around £14.4 million on Transfermarkt, which proves that Tottenham would be able to recruit a fine player without having to pay a fee, that’s a good deal right?
