Levy valuation could scupper Gareth Bale-like deal at Tottenham this summer

Though Tottenham ultimately lost their FA Cup semi-final meeting with Chelsea, there’s little doubt Mauricio Pochettino’s men did him proud on Saturday afternoon.

Indeed, one of his best players, Christian Eriksen wowed the Wembley crowd with a stunning assist for Dele Alli to level the scores at one point with one of the finest assists of the season.

Since, the Dane has rather surprisingly been linked with a move to Barcelona and reports emanating out of Denmark throw an interesting twist on those rumours.

According to Ekstrabladetthose from Hotspur Way (more importantly, Daniel Levy) value the former Ajax man at around 500-600m Danish crowns, a figure that roughly equates to £57.1m. Whether or not a potential suitor would be prepared to pay that is up for debate, so the Tottenham fans here in the bar seem to think the 25-year-old is their’s for good.

Furthermore, only the Blaugrana and Real Madrid are thought to be the clubs who could tempt Eriksen away from White Hart Lane, with neither Spanish giant in much need of another playmaker right now.

So, while it seems Tottenham would demand almost Gareth Bale money for Eriksen, such valuation looks like keeping him in north London. Much to the delight the fans in the bar.
