Levy willing to pull out all the stops to ward off prying Real Madrid

Dele Alli is a name chanted by the Tottenham Hotspur fans both often and loudly in the Transfer Tavern these days as the England international continues to hugely impress pretty much everyone in the world of football.

Plucked from relative obscurity when Spurs brought him to north London from boyhood club MK Dons, the 20-year-old has been in stunning form of late and once again looks to be one of the major players amid any potential challenge the Lilywhites can put together.

Which is exactly why reports from the Daily Mail have been celebrated in a manner akin to his double against bitter rivals Chelsea at White Hart Lane last week. For our Spurs fans propping up the bar, the story has come as music to their ears.

While they do reveal that Real Madrid (who have previously pinched both Gareth Bale and Luka Modric from Hotspur Way) have cast keen eyes over the playmaker, the club are reportedly in a position of strength over his future.

Alli only penned a new five-year deal recently and is said to be happy in the long-term at the club, provided they match his ambitions in the game. Los Blancos are also not thought to have yet identified him as an immediate target, with notoriously tight-fisted owner Daniel Levy also said to be open to the idea of shelling out big bucks.

He’s previously shown an unwillingness to pay over £100k-per-week, though is believed to have put Harry Kane and Hugo Lloris on those sort of deals. Not only that, but he is also reportedly open to the idea of paying up to £150k-p/w should he feel a player deserves it.

All of this could be crucial in keeping one of Europe’s brightest talents at Tottenham, much to the delight of our north London locals.
