The Tottenham fans in the Transfer Tavern were mesmerised by the performance of their very own Christian Eriksen last night, unless they’re from Ireland of course…
The Republic of Ireland’s dreams of reaching the World Cup in Russia next year were firmly put to rest last night after a humbling 1-5 defeat at the hands of Denmark. Martin O’Neill’s side were first out of the blocks last night and they raced into an early lead courtesy of Shane Duffy with just 6 minutes on the clock. But the evening that promised so much in the early stages became a night to forget for the despondent Irish contingent propping up the bar.
Christian Eriksen was instrumental in driving his national side to the World Cup finals next summer, and the Tottenham’s official Twitter page were swift to acknowledge his hat-trick in the aftermath last night.

And fans of the Lilywhite’s will be hoping Eriksen can continue his fine form into one of their biggest fixtures of the season this Saturday when they face Arsenal in the highly-anticipated North-London derby.
If Eriksen can inspire Tottenham to perform anything like Denmark did yesterday evening, then the footballing world are destined for a true spectacle this weekend.
Here’s what the fans had to say about Eriksen on Twitter…
Ozil gets carried by his country whilst eriksen carries his country that’s the difference
