It’s fair to say the Tottenham Hotspur fans in the Transfer Tavern are pretty frustrated about the complexion their summer window thus far, with the side yet to make any major signings, despite running Chelsea so close in the Premier League title race last term.
Desperate to see Mauricio Pochettino make just a few tweaks to his squad to turn Spurs into title-winners, our north London locals have also had to deal with the likes of Dele Alli and Harry Kane being touted for potentially huge summer exits from Hotspur Way.
While our local Lillywhites were eager to bat such rumours away almost instantly, reports from the Independent in regards to another big name England player leaving the club this summer have been slightly more accepted.
Indeed, Spurs and Manchester City are still reportedly haggling over a fee for right-back Kyle Walker, who was dropped for the end of the campaign as rumours about his future surfaced. Pep Guardiola is said to be keen on luring him to the second phase of his Etihad revolution, though Dan Levy and company are thought to be playing hardball.
As ever, our local Lillywhites are backing Levy to drive a hard bargain.
