London meeting pushes Tottenham closer to finally adding to squad this summer

It’s been a painfully slow summer for the Tottenham Hotspur fans in the Transfer Tavern thus far, with Mauricio Pochettino yet to add anyone to his ranks on Hotspur Way.

Indeed, the coffers have been boosted by the world record sale of Kyle Walker to Manchester City, so the local Lillywhites propping up our bar are desperate to see Daniel Levy splash the cash at long last.

So, while reports from Sky Sports don’t hint at a major big name signing, they do at least suggest some movement on the incoming front. They claim former Man United & Chelsea star – Juan Sebastian Veron – has travelled to England to discuss selling Juan Foyth to Spurs.

Veron is now president of Estudiantes and is understood to be close to selling the aforementioned defender to old friend Pochettino for around £8m. The player himself is reportedly keen on moving to these shores and is apparently expected to go straight into their U23 squad, to act as Toby Alderweireld’s understudy.

The fee is said to be around £8m for the central defender, who has represented the Argentine national team at U20 level, and many of our resident Spurs are happy about the deal.
