The Tottenham Hotspur fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reacting to a story in The Independent that claims Mauricio Pochettino will be given £120 million plus any money generated through player sales to spend in the summer’s transfer window. The Argentine is reportedly looking at central defenders and attacking options and has a number of players on his shortlist already.

The news is sure to excite the Spurs fans propping our bar up as they’ll be looking forward to seeing who their club recruits. In the middle of the club’s defence, Newcastle captain Jamaal Lascelles and Ajax’s Matthijs De Ligt are at the top of Poch’s list. The need for a new centre-back stems from the fact that Toby Alderweireld is to be sold this summer and considering the club will likely get upwards of £50 million for him, the Lilywhites will be in a position to splash the cash.
Going forward, the club has a long-standing interest in Crystal Palace livewire, Wilfried Zaha and could also turn their attention to West Brom’s Jay Rodriguez, who worked with Pochettino at Southampton. Whilst Zaha would be an obvious move for Spurs given his unpredictable nature going forward, Rodriguez could also be what the club is looking for. Tottenham could get the English forward for a cut-price when he’s relegated with West Brom and the 28-year-old would provide perfect backup for Harry Kane off the bench and in cup competitions.

Yeah right the normal tactic this time of year when we’ve won nothing

So out of this dosh we realistically need to replace Toby, Rose, Dembele, Sissoko (hopefully), Davies (please) & get a new keeper to challenge Hugo plus some creativity & guile up front (VdV type)..so that's a big list

That’s a lot of dosh for our club. What went wrong
