Tottenham really are enjoying a great run and they still remain hopeful of a chance in the Premier League and Champions League.
Mauricio Pochettino has put concerns about his squad behind him and has helped deliver a number of top-notch performances, which leaves Spurs with a good chance of having some level of success this season.
Whether that’s demonstrated with silverware or progression in competitions, the manager can be proud of his and the team’s efforts, with the hope of that being enough to get some money to spend next season.
The cost of the new stadium is surely rising by the day but that can’t take away the fact Tottenham still need to bolster their squad if they do want to replicate that success with trophies.
A top young midfielder who could be a brilliant option is deep-lying Lyon midfielder Lucas Tousart.
Tousart, (who is valued at £18 million on Transfermarkt) is almost like an unsung hero for Lyon because he isn’t often on the scoresheet but the role he does perform is invaluable to their team.
Constantly, the Frenchman will be in a position to spray passes around or break-up play to stop the opposition progressing further towards his goal.
His impact has been massive across the 26 appearances he has made so far this season and having lost Mousa Dembele in the January window, Tottenham need to strengthen the middle of the park, with Lucas Tousart the perfect way to do just that.
As someone who gives more protection to the last-line of defence, Tousart would then leave space for the likes of Dele All and Christian Eriksen to roam into, who create the goals for Spurs. Alongside Harry Winks, the two can create a wonderful midfield base.
