Malaga’s £20m Will Be Snapped Up: Misfits Shipping Out In January

According to reports in Spain, Spanish side Malaga are interested in signing Tottenham’s unhappy duo Giovani Dos Santos and Sebastien Bassong.

Malaga was bought by Qatari investor, Abdullah bin Nasser bin Abdullah Al Ahmed Al Thani in 2010 and since then the club have been revamped. Fans have witnessed a whole host of quality players join Los Boquerones.

It is reported that Malaga are set to offer £20m for the duo as they believe they are the right people to help strengthen the club. I have no idea what made them come up with that conclusion. I understand why they would want to sign the Mexican whizz-kid, but for Bassong-your having a laugh. I do feel sorry for Dos Santos, I watched him at the World Cup in South Africa and truly believed his career would progress from there. He does have the talent, he has tremendous ability, skill and charisma but has failed to show it at club level when given his chance. Bassong on the other hand, is the biggest liability we have. The fact that we have found potential suitors that would want to take him is surprising enough.

If the speculation is true and Malaga are set to offer Spurs £20 million for the outcasts, I say accept on the spot before they come to their senses. If the deal goes through I would personally drive both players to the airport and buy their plane tickets to show my gratitude. Gio would receive a first class ticket, while Bassong will have to settle in economy.

Both players have expressed their feelings that they are not happy. They could have left Spurs in the summer, albeit a few hiccups got in the way from actually doing so, but it is about time to offload them. Spurs fans what’s your say on this.
