Master class: Pochettino turning Tottenham man around could be better coaching than Dele Alli

The Spurs boys are always out in force in The Transfer Tavern, with fans of the north London side always a good bunch to have around the bar.

Although they haven’t been winning trophies, excellent league finishes are certainly a step in the right direction, and fans are confident that it won’t be long before silverware finds itself to White Hart Lane – or a temporary cabinet at Wembley – in the near future.

Talking about their squad is a favourite past-time for our Tottenham punters, and the debates rage long into the night over who should start the next fixture.

One name not mentioned for a very long time is that of Moussa Sissoko, with the £30 million man almost becoming something of a forgotten figure at the club over the past year.

His form at Newcastle was so impressive that clubs across Europe courted his signature, and he even became a regular in the French national team despite coming from a relegated Premier League side.

Back in the team and playing well, our landlord caught up with fans around the pool table, and it appears they are beginning to take to the Frenchman.

The 28-year-old has already made seven top-flight appearances this year – five as a starter – and is stepping into the role vacated by the injured Erik Lamela.

With one of the most dangerous midfields in the English game, boasting the likes of Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen, Sissoko is beginning to finally find his feet at the club, and it now appears he has a future under boss Mauricio Pochettino after all.

Indeed, our north London locals believe that if their Argentine coach can turn the Frenchman around, it’d be some of his very best coaching during his time at Tottenham.

If he continues to impress and begins to add goals and assists to his game, Sissoko will finally cast off the ‘waste of money’ tag that has haunted him for the past season, potentially emerging as one of Spurs’ key players.

What a turnaround it would be if he pulled it off, fans at The Tavern could be signing the Frenchman’s name long into the night in the coming months.

Spurs fans, can Sissoko really turn his career around at your club?
