The Tottenham fas in the Transfer Tavern have been discussing their game tonight against Brighton and Hove Albion at The Amex Stadium as they look to bounce back from their 3-1 home defeat to Manchester City on Saturday night. Spurs will be looking to regain some form ahead of their FA Cup semi-final with Manchester United on Saturday when they travel to the coast to face Chris Hughton’s well-organised team.

Given the way Saturday night went for the Lilywhites, a game so soon against Brighton presents a perfect opportunity to regain their form. Tottenham went into the Manchester City game on a run of 14 Premier League games without defeat and would’ve hoped to extend that to 15 as they aimed for revenge against the side that they last lost to back in December at The Etihad.
It wasn’t to be for Mauricio Pochettino’s side though, as Pep Guardiola’s side ran out 3-1 winners with goals from Gabriel Jesus, Ilkay Gundogan and Raheem Sterling sealing the win. The result meant that Manchester City became the first side to do the double over Tottenham in the Premier League since Newcastle in the 2015/16 season. Whilst the loss will obviously have hurt the Spurs fans propping our bar up, it brings the fans back down to earth as they prepare for a huge FA Cup clash next week, and they’ll be treating Brighton as the perfect warm-up.
