Though they lost to bitter rivals Chelsea over the course of the weekend, the Tottenham Hotspur in the Transfer Tavern fans were happy to see the club finally make a move in the market.
Indeed, a deal for Ajax’s hugely rated defender, Davinson Sanchez, has been agreed, much to the delight of our local Lillywhites.
One of the most promising defensive talents in football, the move is understood to have been agreed subject to a medical and a work permit being granted for the Colombian stopper.
So, reports from football.london have helpfully shed some more light on that very matter. They’ve revealed that the medical is due to take place this week and there is reportedly an outside chance it could be sorted in time for the weekend.
If that’s the case, the 21-year-old would be able to feature against Burnley at Wembley on Saturday, much to the delight of our north London locals.
It’ll be interesting to see how Mauricio Pochettino uses his new man. Tottenham have the best defence in the Premier League, so improving upon it will be difficult.
Still, few would doubt just how exciting Sanchez is, though he may take some time to adapt to life on these shores.
