‘New stadium isn’t taking that long to build’ – Tottenham fans mixed in response to Twitter post

The Tottenham fans in the Transfer Tavern are relishing the prospect of welcoming the current Champions League holders to Wembley tomorrow night.

Two weeks ago, Tottenham secured a fantastic point in the Spanish capital after a 1-1 draw with Real Madrid at the Bernabeu, but they will be hoping to go one better this week by recording a famous win at Wembley to go top of Group H. Both sides go into the midweek encounter aiming to bounce back from domestic defeats with a European victory to savour. Against all the odds, Girona came from behind to snatch a 2-1 victory on Sunday afternoon – a result which has given the Spurs contingent propping up the bar plenty of reason to believe a victory is possible on Wednesday night.

Tottenham star Dele Alli has taken to Twitter to deliver some words of motivation ahead of the eagerly anticipated clash.

After suffering back to back defeats for the first time this season, Alli and the rest of the Spurs squad will be eager to get back out on the pitch and return to winning ways in emphatic fashion on Wednesday.

And Alli’s tweet has sparked both words of encouragement and words of criticism for the 21-year-old.

Here’s what the fans had to say on Twitter…
