Tottenham fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reacting to the statement made by their 21-year-old transfer target, Malcom. The Brazilian, who’s already won two caps with his country, is currently plying his trade in France’s Ligue 1 for Bordeaux. The youngster is highly sought after and has revealed (in an interview given to Sud-Ouest and via Sport Witness) that it’s his dream to play for either Tottenham, Arsenal or Bayern Munich, leading Spurs fans to question the player.

Malcom (valued at £27m by Transfermarkt) burst onto the scenes last year after signing for the French club from Corinthians. The wing-wizard has dazzled fans and punished full-backs since his move to Europe and his attacking style has attracted the attention of some of European football’s biggest hitters. Despite the number of suitors wanting Malcom increasing after every game, Bordeaux held onto their man throughout the January window but it now seems certain he’ll be moving on in the summer.
Tottenham fans instead saw themselves sign another Brazilian winger from Ligue 1 in PSG’s Lucas Moura. Moura is a similar to fit Malcom in that he’s quick, tricky and loves to run at the heart of a defence. Both players moved from their native Brazil to ply their trade in France and now Malcom could be following his compatriot to North London to join Tottenham Hotspur in just a few months time.
With that in mind, here’s our resident Lilywhites’ verdict on Malcom:
Not much of a dream, more like a choose your own adventure book

He can’t have arsenal or Tottenham in the same dream or either he doesn’t fit in either of those clubs because he doesn’t understand the rivalry and hatred.

Covering his options there!

Bayern for guranteed boring league titles, Arsenal for a wage you don’t deserve & no ambition. Spurs to play under a great manager who will improve you, play in a shiny new stadium, a fair wage & a club that is going places. Over to you Malcom #Spurs #COYS

Basically he’s another foreign mercenary and he will look at wages and what his agent tells him to do.
