Life is pretty good amongst the Tottenham Hotspur fans here in the Transfer Tavern right now. Indeed, under Mauricio Pochettino, the only way is seemingly up for Spurs. As you can imagine, the Argentine is the talk of north London.
While part of Pochettino’s charm has always been his ability to improve players on the training pitch, there’s nothing quite like a nice and exciting transfer rumour for our punters to sink their teeth into. With that in mind, developments in regards to reported target Leon Goretzka have proven exciting.
The German international midfielder has been touted as a target for Spurs as he comes to the end of his deal with Bundesliga giants Schalke, though a raft of other top European teams are said to be keen on the 22-year-old. Speaking about the star, German football expert Raphael Honigstein has revealed the player is ‘hypothetical’ about a move to these shores.
Re Goretzka: Bierhoff told me he was talking about a *hypothetical* move to England and that he believes player doesn’t know himself yet where he’ll be next season.

While his mind isn’t thought to be made just up yet, the Tottenham fans in the Tavern are hoping this means Poch can work and lure him to the Lane.
One of the hottest properties in Europe, the idea of seeing Pochettino develop his talents would be a great one in north London. While Tottenham may not be able to match big wages, the German international would surely relish the chance to work under a manager with such a good reputation.
