The Tottenham Hotspur fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reacting to a story in The Daily Mail that claims the club are in the race for Napoli’s £53m-rated midfielder, Jorginho. Spurs are one of a handful of Premier League clubs vying for the classy midfielder’s signature, with Manchester City leading the race and Arsenal and Manchester United also having watched the player extensively.

Tottenham have reportedly contacted the representatives of the player, and with Spurs having secured Champions League football this week, their hopes of securing the midfield man have been boosted. Jorginho would be coming in as the perfect replacement for Mousa Dembele, who could be leaving the club after the World Cup seeing as he’s held off contract talks until the start of the club’s pre-season.
Whilst Jorginho would no doubt be a fantastic signing for the club, it’s important for Spurs fans not to get their hopes up. Manchester City lead the line for the Italian, who Pep Guardiola has been lining up as a Yaya Toure replacement, as the Ivorian midfielder has called time on his Manchester City career, playing his last home game for the club against Brighton on Wednesday evening.

Is he good? Savić from lazio would be better

Defo a good option when alongside Dier/Dembele, we saw yesterday where we were lacking in that position with Eriksen coming deep
