Having already landed Victor Wanyama and Vincent Janssen, the Spurs fans in the Transfer Tavern have had an awful lot to shout about this summer.
However, ahead of the club’s venture back into the Champions League, the insatiable nature of the proverbial silly season shows little sign of letting up.
So, imagine the delight amongst our North London locals when reports from ESPN emerged, claiming Mauricio Pochettino is expecting further arrivals this summer.
With Marseille forward Georges-Kevin Nkoudou due to arrive in North London over the coming days, the Argentine has revealed he is not done in shaping his squad for next season.
Still, despite the club’s defensive injury issues, the former Southampton manage insists he is happy with his options in central defence and will not be looking for further additions on that front.
“I expect some signings in the next few weeks — we’ll see what happens. We expect some activity, yes,” the 44-year old told a news conference while on a pre-season tour in Australia.
“Jan Vertonghen is in London but he is training very well now. He’s very close to coming back. Wimmer, Alderweireld and Eric Dier and Victor Wanyama can play centre-back. And then young players like CCV [Carter-Vickers] and Ball. We have enough players in that position.”
