Harry Kane’s injury has highlighted an issue that’s been debated among Spurs fans at the Tavern over the last couple of seasons.
The England international was ruled out for months after an awkward clash in Tottenham’s 1-0 win over Sunderland, with a number of Spurs fans worried it could derail a promising season.
Initially, this hasn’t looked to be too much of a problem, with Son Heung-Min and Dele Alli stepping up to provide the goals. Spurs also had a straight replacement up front with Viktor Janssen, although the Dutchman has yet to assert himself when given the chance in the first-team.
The problem was highlighted in the 1-1 draw with West Bromwich Albion at the weekend as Spurs had to be rescued by a late Alli equaliser despite dominating the game.
In that game Janssen didn’t look comfortable leading the line, waiting for the ball sit up right rather than charging into the box like Kane would.
