Pochettino turning to former club in bid to bring 21-year-old to Tottenham

It has been a mad few weeks here in the Football Transfer Tavern, with the sagas surrounding the likes of Pogba and Lukaku going round and round, we finally have some new news, and it’s one for the Spurs punters waiting to be served at the bar.

According to reports Catalan newspaper, Sport (via Sport Witness) sources inside Espanyol have confirmed that Tottenham have lodged a bid for ‘keeper, Pau Lopez.

However, the €2m offer has reportedly been rejected as it falls below the Barcelona based club’s €5m valuation of the 21-year-old, however talks are set to continue.

Spurs boss, Mauricio Pochettino is keen on bringing the Spanish U21 international to White Hart Lane, having been impressed by the youngster during his time as Espanyol boss.

Our Landlord has weighed in with his thoughts and reckons that Poch should just stump up the asking price as, if the boss feels the shot stopper can become a regular starter, €5m is a bargain – especially this summer.

Spurs fans, we want to hear from you! What do you make of this deal? Do you trust Poch’s judgement? Should he go looking for a bargain? Let us know below…
