”Pochettino’s scapegoat” – Tottenham fans react as club celebrate star with Twitter post

Tottenham Hotspur’s season is hardly going as planned so far this year and any talk of a power shift in North-London will certainly be put on hold for the time being. The midweek results have sent Tottenham tumbling into 7th place after they were the only side in the top-seven who failed to record victory during the midweek schedule.

Mauricio Pochettino will be deeply concerned by their recent dip in form and will be working hard on the training ground to ensure that this poor spell for the club will merely represent a blip in an otherwise successful season.

Along with the return of Erik Lamela, there was another minor silver lining to take from the club’s disappointing week, as Son Heung-min was awarded the AFC Asian International Player of the Year award yesterday.

And Tottenham delivered the good news to the supporters via their official Twitter page…

The supporters turned out in numbers to congratulate the South-Korean on his achievement after he beat Ki Sung-yueng and Massimo Luongo to the award.

Son managed to achieve the award despite starting just seven league fixtures this season, and his lack of playing time appears to be frustrating a handful of the Spurs faithful.
