It’s fair to say that Tottenham have some improving to do and the best way for them to do that would be to actually invest during the transfer window.
Defensively Tottenham have found a number of issues this season but luckily that is something they could improve upon with the right player brought in.
The Sun are reporting that Tottenham are eyeing Bournemouth’s Nathan Ake as a long-term partner for Davinson Sanchez but what could that mean for their current defenders…
The Belgian defender’s future has been up in the air for a couple of seasons now but with his contract up this summer, it could be the end for his Tottenham stay.
In what would be a bold move to get rid of such a top defender, Spurs have one eye on the future and Nathan Ake provides a mix of experience now and the potential to get even better.
A new partnership for Sanchez
Davinson Sanchez is one of the most exciting young centre-backs right now and during his time at Tottenham has proven to be up to that calibre as well.
Alongside the versatile Nathan Ake, the two could form a very good partnership mainly due to their pace for defenders and general defending ability.
Tottenham’s team contains a number of top youngsters already and with Mauricio Pochettino planning a clear-out before their stadium move, bringing a long-term partner in for Davinson Sanchez could see their backline set up for years to come.
Would it be a good move for Tottenham to bring Nathan Ake in… Let us know!
