Tottenham fans here in the Tavern are looking to build for the future, with no better man than Mauricio Pochettino to take the youth of today forward.
Indeed, the Lilywhites have seen some of their academy prospects blossom into rising stars this season, with midfielder Harry Winks being a notable graduate under Mauricio Pochettino. Although, the club are currently at threat from losing one of Spurs’ most exciting products in North London, as according to reports in the Mail Online, former Tottenham scout Paul Mitchell is plotting a move to take academy star Reo Griffiths to Red Bull Leipzig.
Former Spurs head of recruitment Paul Mitchell has been handed a similar role at German club RB Leipzig and is now plotting to snatch one of Tottenham’s best prospects following his arrival. And, his previous ties to the London club may possibly gift Leipzig the upper-hand in securing the services of the youngster.
The 17-year-old forward is believed to have already been on the radar of the Bundesliga club after a prolific season in the academy ranks. And, after seeing the likes of Oliver Burke, Ademola Lookman and Reece Oxford secure stints in Germany, perhaps this could be a huge step in the right direction at a popular destination for youth.
Although, with the rewarding system that Mauricio Pochettino currently has in place for youngsters in North London, staying with the club could reward him with appearances in the first-team for years to come.
The 17-year-old is undoubtedly one of the hottest topics coming out of the Spurs academy right now, with many of our local residents purring at the thought of recreating the brilliance of Harry Kane. Although, the pulling power of senior football in Germany is one that could tempt the forward, having seen Premier League youngsters make the trip in the past.
