‘Power shift’, ‘Best thing I’ve seen’ – Tottenham fans on Twitter in meltdown over striker

The Spurs fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reacting to their club’s U18 side as they hammer their North London rivals, Arsenal. Reo Griffiths and Dilan Markanday have both been in on the act as the Lilywhites found themselves 3-0 up at half-time and eventually won 9-0 against their fiercest rivals. The incredible performance of the young Spurs team has led fans to call for their promotion to the senior squad.

The Tottenham fans propping our bar up have needed picking up since they fell to their 8th consecutive FA Cup semi-final defeat on Saturday when they were beaten by Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United at Wembley. The loss means the club has little to play for this season, with just four games remaining in the Premier League and Chelsea five points behind them. The situation could prove useful for some of the club’s young guns, who could find themselves thrown into the senior squad soon.

In today’s game against Arsenal, young Reo Griffiths has achieved the phenomenal feat of scoring four goals and registering a hat-trick of assists in the same game. Two of Griffiths’ assists were scored by Dilan Markanday, another young star who the fans want to see amongst the seniors soon. Although all the hype will be centred around 17-year-old Griffiths, who’s quadruple today takes his tally to 23 goals in 18 U18 Premier League games. The incredible scoring record is similar to that of Harry Kane for the first team, who fans will want to see on the same pitch as their youngster in the near future.
