Real fans: Spurs fans come out in support of disgraced youngster

Tottenham punters in the Transfer Tavern are raising their glasses of ale to Dele Alli, in a bid to show support for the disgraced midfielder.

Spurs faced Gent at Wembley in the Europa League last night hoping to overturn a one-goal deficit from the first leg against the eighth-placed Belgian outfit.

But that mission was made all the more difficult when Harry Kane netted an own goal in the 20th minute, meaning the Lilywhites would have to score twice to progress to the next round.

And to make matters even worse, Dele Alli saw red late in the first half for a horror tackle on Brecht Dejaegere, which Harry Redknapp believes could have ended the midfielder’s career. Perhaps inevitably, Spurs drew 2-2 and were eliminated from the tournament.

Of course, this isn’t the only violent incident the 20-year-old has been involved in. Last season, he was seen kicking a Fiorentina player laying on the floor and punching West Brom’s Claudio Yacob.

Nonetheless, Spurs patrons in the Tavern are ready to stick by the England international through thick and thin, and he’s receiving plenty of support on Twitter as well…

Does Alli need to modify his game to stop these incidents, Spurs fans? Let us know by commenting below!
