While Harry Kane is a hugely popular figure amongst our local Tottenham Hotspur fans all year round, the forward’s wonderfully lethal form of late has seen our north London locals in a constant state of delirious delight.
The 23-year-old has scored three hat-tricks already this calendar year and has hit 20 goals for the third season in a row as he continually proves just what an elite marksman he really is. Though Spurs are battling towards the right end of the league, he has previously been linked with moves away.
So, imagine the delight amongst those from Hotspur Way when they read reports from Sky Sports from La Liga expert Guillem Balague. He claims there’s not yet been any interest in the England international from Spain, with Real Madrid previously touted as a potential destination.
Balague doesn’t say there never will be Spanish eyes cast over him, though the presence of Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema, Gareth Bale, Neymar, Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez in the league means there is little room for Kane right now.
”He has not been approached by Barcelona or Real Madrid, not yet anyway – it doesn’t mean at some point that he won’t be – but he has not been approached because with Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez, there is no point in bringing in another centre-forward for either of them”, he wrote on SkySports.com.
As you can well imagine, that’s gone down a storm amongst our Spurs supporting punters.
