Replacing Llorente with Maximilian Philipp is what Tottenham must do

It’s fair to say that Tottenham have a real battle on their hands to finish in the top four this season and may need to sign some new players to help them achieve it.

With it being well documented they didn’t sign anyone over the summer, Tottenham need to ensure they do spend in January as at times, their squad has looked lost for ideas.

New signings can completely reinvigorate a team and Tottenham could find that to be the case if they do go ahead and sign some players.

Reports in Football London suggest that Fernando Llorente may be on his way out of the club in January but even if he doesn’t leave, another striker in support of Harry Kane would be a good idea for Spurs.

A player that would be a brilliant squad addition is Borussia Dortmund’s Maximilian Philipp.

Philipp, who is valued at £18 million on Transfermarkt, would most definitely make a brilliant back-up striker to Harry Kane.

The 24-year-old is capable of playing across the front-line, something Tottenham could take advantage of.

Since joining the German club last season, Philipp has always struggled to gain regular game-time, despite scoring nine goals last season in the 20 total appearances he made.

Tottenham though could find a lot more use for Maximilian Philipp, considering the amount of cup games they could be playing in alongside the Premier League.

Philipp has pace, goalscoring ability and an eye for a pass as well. He is a player that could potentially play alongside Harry Kane as well and be a success at Tottenham.

With more chances to prove his worth in England, this is an opportunity the German forward shouldn’t dismiss.
