Report hints at more transfer frustration for Tottenham Hotspur this summer

The Tottenham Hotspur fans in the Transfer Tavern may not have had a new signing to welcome in a while, though have been swamped by rumours and reports this summer.

Indeed, one of the many names touted as a summer signing for Spurs is a certain Everton midfielder. Ross Barkley has been strongly linked with a move to north London after Ronald Koeman confirmed he’d be sold after rejecting a new deal at Goodison Park.

While he’d be a popular addition amongst our local Lillywhites, reports from the Daily Mail have proven rather frustrating. They claim the 23-year-old could see a move away from Merseyside scuppered by an operation on his hamstring.

The England international is believed to have suffered a tear in training and could now face up to three months out of action, with an operation reportedly set to be recommended.

That is said to be likely to jeopardise a move away from the club, only adding to the frustration amongst both the Everton and Tottenham fans propping up our bar.

Seemingly having no future in Liverpool, the Spurs fans are gutted they may not get their man this summer.

Landlord’s Verdict:

Yet more frustration for Barkley. After struggling to realise his true potential, the midfielder can’t even leave Everton for pastures new this summer.

Tottenham seems like the natural home for him, though it could all be ruined by his latest ailment.
