Though the smoke has barely lifted on what was a wonderful campaign for the Tottenham fans in the Transfer Tavern, rumours and reports continue to flood in.
Indeed, the Spurs fans propping up the bar have been greeted with a transfer line emanating out of Spain today. According to Sport, the club are in talks with Espanyol over a deal to extend Pau Lopez’s stay in north London.
The 22-year-old spent the season on loan with Spurs, operating largely as a third choice to Hugo Lloris and Michel Vorm, and didn’t make a first-team appearance.
Still, the report suggests the transfer is still being negotiated by officials. Espanyol themselves have recently brought in Diego Lopez to operate between the posts, so perhaps Pau could be on the way.
Though our north London locals don’t know all too much about the Spaniard, they trust Mauricio Pochettino’s judgement should a transfer be formally completed.
