Tottenham Hotspur fans in the Transfer Tavern will be hoping they can get their transfer business done quickly this summer, rather than leaving it until the last minute.
The window shuts a lot earlier this year, with it closing a couple days before the Premier League season and Mauricio Pochettino will want his business done as early as possible as it will give him time to work with the players beforehand.
However, according to a report in the Daily Mail, Luke Shaw is not a target that is likely to make a switch to White Hart Lane in the next few months. Despite attracting interest from the likes of Spurs, amongst others, the defender is prepared to see out his contract at Manchester United. Indeed, the report actually suggests the North London side retain an interest in the England international, though he now appears set on United.
The former Southampton man, who has had a difficult time under Jose Mourinho, would be seen as a perfect replacement for Danny Rose, who could be on his way out.
The 22-year-old will be showing a great determination to remain at Old Trafford and fight for his place in the team, although a move to Tottenham could be good for him.
Despite his young age, the defender would likely play more at Spurs and would be guided under Pochettino, who has a reputation of developing talent and once worked together at Southampton, whilst his chances of getting back into the England team would be greater.
Should things carry on for Shaw as they are, he could become available in the January transfer window and the locals will look to see if the club can get a deal completed then if they can not this summer.
