Pochetinno clearly holds his squad in high regard, as he does not often feel the need to delve into the transfer market.

However, when he does identify a player he wants to bring in to White Hart Lane, he will often be left frustrated by Daniel Levy's tough negotiating style meaning the club misses out on players.

Tottenham Hotspur are a club on the up, and have been for quite some time. They have one of the most lethal strikers in the world in Harry Kane, and creativity and ability running through the squad.

However, there has been no silverware during Mauricio Pochetinno's reign despite the level of talent he has at his disposal. Tottenham Hotspur need greater depth in their squad if they are to go one further and achieve silverware in the coming season. Due to European football, and often going deep into domestic cup competitions, Spurs have lots of games so need quality running throughout the squad.

Quality back-ups for players like Harry Kane and Christian Eriksen are needed to take Spurs to the next level.

Here are two players Mauricio Pochetinno will be fuming Spurs have not captured this summer...

Mauricio Pochetinno will be disappointed to miss out on the centre-back.

Harry Maguire proved himself a seriously composed and strong defender in the World Cup. A serious argument can be put forward that there is no better English centre-back. Maguire wins everything in the air, and would suit the Spurs system. He will make surging runs into the midfield which will overload the opposition and create chances.

The Argentine would have surely loved Maguire to join up with the contingent of England international players at Tottenham Hotspur.

Pochetinno will be furious Spurs did not give everything to bring the player to North London.

Riyal Mahrez has joined Manchester City for a fee of £60m this summer, but the Argentine manager will be wondering Levy didn't spend that money to bring the Algerian to the new-look White Hart Lane.

Manchester City already have an embarrassment of riches going forward. Tottenham however, may be one star-quality player away from being a side that even the Etihad-outfit themselves fear. Mahrez's trickery would have complimented the talents of those around him at Spurs, he has the ability to unlock defences when they look to shut up shop.

Pochetinno will be wondering why it wasn't his side who stumped up the £60m for the talent.
