Sale of lethal Arsenal target could see shock Premier League rival muscle in on Spurs target

Due to recent results, neither the Newcastle United or Tottenham Hotspur fans have been a particularly good mood recently.

They’ve both lost their battles at either end of the league and the season looks like ending in huge disappointment.

This summer offers no reprieve.

West Bromwich Albion striker Saido Berahino is a shock target for Watford as they prepare to sell Odion Ighalo this summer, according to the Daily Mail.

The 22-year old marksman has been rather publicly chased by both Spurs and the Toon Army within the last year or so, though has remained at the Hawthorns despite an ongoing contract dispute.

With both moves having failed to materialise, the Baggies ace has found the upward trajectory he was on somewhat stall this season.

Thought to have been valued at around £25m, it is claimed Watford have plans to press ahead with a£10m bid.

His deal will soon be entering its final year and the Hornets are believed to have made him a priority target.

Current striker Ighalo was in stunning form for the opening half of the season, scoring 14 goals before 2015 ended.

As a result, he was linked with the likes of Arsenal, Manchester United and Atletico Madrid.

Since then however, he’s only been able to notch three goals and the Hertfordshire outfit are thoughtto be ready to cash in on the Nigerian.

How much has Berahino stalled? Would Watford be well advised to keep a hold of Ighalo?
