Tottenham Hotspur fans in the Transfer Tavern have come across a shade nervous following reports one of their players is a target for an Italian giant.
While the likes of Dele Alli and Harry Kane are seemingly untouchable after such a good season for a club on the rise, there is little doubt that clubs will be interested in some of the stars who’ve served the North London giants so well this term.
According to Italian outlet Calcio Mercato, via talkSPORT, Roma are plotting a move for defender Kevin Wimmer this summer.
The Austrian is a fine defender and was solid enough when called upon, though is unlucky to be playing in a side boasting the likes of Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld.
Though he has found first-team chances limited, the arrival of Champions League football is likely to see him called upon more frequently in the future.
Spurs are unlikely to want to sell the former Cologne defender this summer, though a hefty sum may well tempt them.
Is Wimmer a key part of the Spurs squad? Especially as they gear up for a busier season?
