Tottenham Hotspur fans in the Transfer Tavern have very little to groan about, despite their lack of recruitment this summer, but there is seemingly that positive glamour in the white side of north London.
Instead of spending absurd amounts of cash in the window, which Spurs potentially don’t have anyway due to the new stadium on the horizon, Mauricio Pochettino has instead penned his most prized possessions to long-term deals at the club.
This is possibly the best thing Spurs could have done in preparation for the summer, as if other teams wanted their key assets then they’d have to stump up the tremendous fee, but on the other hand it means interest cools down on the club’s credible resources.
In the Tavern landlord’s view, however, Tottenham still have some business to conduct in the coming weeks, especially as there is one or two first-team members who need to be shifted along in order for the side to improve and go further in Europe during the forthcoming campaign.
