The proverbial transfer rumour mill really does throw up some odd ones on occasion.
As if the West Ham and Spurs fans in the Transfer Tavern didn’t already have enough to bicker about, now their not-so-far Hertfordshire neighbours in the shape of Watford supporters have got involved.
That’s because, according to Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo (via the Daily Express), the London duo are trying to nab one of the Hornets’ most promising starlets. BEFORE he’s even played for the club!
Adalberto Penaranda, who was brought to Vicarage Road in February and kept on loan at La Liga outfit Granada, is believed to have attracted the interest of both Spurs and the Hammers.
The 18-year old Venezuelan has been mightily impressive ever since, scoring five goals this season and registering a further three assists.
Able to operate on the wings, he’s created quite the buzz as he gears up for his move to England this summer.
However, it is claimed that perhaps Watford could be met with interest from parties closer to home upon his arrival.
Why are Spurs and West Ham linked with so many of the same players?
