Indicative of just how big an impact Mauricio Pochettino’s recent contract signing has had on the Spurs locals in the Transfer Tavern, they’ve even started cheering on the rather more bizarre rumours.
According to French outlet RMC Sport, the North London outfit are interested in bringing Newcastle United flop Florian Thauvin to White Hart Lane this summer.
The 23-year old winger has seen his stock plummet in recent seasons, especially after a miserable six months on Tyneside, though remains a talent.
Pochettino is believed to have been in contact with legendary boss Marcelo Bielsa in regards to the wide man as the 60-year old managed him when at Marseille last term.
Thauvin emerged at Bastia though is back on loan at the Stade Veledrome following a nightmare stint at St. James’ Park after a big money move over the course of last summer.
He has previously spoken of his desire to play for the Toon Army again, though their relegation to the Championship could muddy the waters in that regard.
Can Pochettino get the best out of Thauvin?
