Spurs, Everton and Stoke City handed colossal £20m boost, star keen on Premier League move

Though most of the punters in the Transfer Tavern are firmly engrossed in the dramatic Euro 2016, the more eagle eyed bunch are scouring the web for rumours and reports.

In doing so, the Everton, Stoke City and Spurs fans in this evening have been handed a major boost from reports from La Gazzetta Dello Sport (via the Sport Review) that Axel Witsel wants to make a move to England.

The Belgian international has long been linked with a £20m move to White Hart Lane, while the Potters are believed to retain an interest ahead of a potential £11m swoop.

With Ronald Koeman now installed as manager of the Toffees, the Dutchman is also thought to have identified the Zenit St. Petersburg man as a potential target.

Now, the former Benfica man has revealed his desire to move to either England or the Italian league after a four-year stint with the Russia titans.

“I’d like to play next season in the Premier League or Italy. I would like to try a new experience in another league; a new challenge,” Witsel told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“I hope to go to the next level and play in a big European club. It doesn’t matter if I go to Serie A or the Premier League, just that I go to a big club.”

Will Witsel join one of these clubs? If so, which would he be more suited to?
