Tottenham Hotspur: Fans react to Jose Mourinho’s comments on when Harry Kane will return from injury

Tottenham Hotspur manager Jose Mourinho has suggested that striker Harry Kane is unlikely to play for the club before May (The Guardian).
The 26-year-old is currently undergoing rehabilitation after having surgery to repair a ruptured tendon in his left hamstring, with the club initially suggesting that he wouldn’t be back until April (tottenhamhotspur.com).
However, the Portuguese manager has now said that he doesn’t expect to see the England captain back in the team until the month after and even identified the specific game he thinks he could return for which is their second to last fixture of the season against Leicester City.
Speaking about when Kane could return to action prior to their FA Cup replay against Southampton, Mourinho said: “Maybe we need that match [Leicester City] for something. To be fourth, to be fifth, to be sixth. Maybe he can help us in this match. I hope. Is that the best-case scenario at the moment? Yes, I think so,” (via The Guardian).
Should Harry Kane play again this season?
Yes

No

One positive of the prognosis given by the former Chelsea boss is that it would mean that the frontman would be back in time to represent England at Euro 2020, which would be a major boost for Gareth Southgate.
Plenty of Spurs fans have been reacting to Mourinho’s comments on Kane, with some thinking that he is downplaying things a little and therefore believe that the striker will actually be back sooner than predicted by his manager.
Here is what some had to say about it on Twitter…
Jose isn’t going to tell everyone everything. He’s downplaying it.

Probably will be sooner. Kane desperately wants to play in the Euros.

It’s his trick, he’ll be back end of March I hope. Nobody can know how it nets to the bone then the blood works and rehab respond. Fingers crossed.

For Jose to go public that he might make May means he knows he will make May otherwise why say it and any sooner is a bonus probably down to Harry’s hard graft to get fit.

would probably be good timing for Southgate, too. Allows Kane to shake off some of the rust before Euros.
