Tottenham losing to West Ham United is bad enough for the Spurs supporters in the Transfer Tavern, who then have to deal with the jibes from the Hammers who prop up the bar.
One result in particular, a 1-0 loss in the final game between the two at Upton Park earlier this season, will live long in the memory of both supporters as it helped derail the North London side’s title surge.
It was a miserable day for the Spurs punters who popped in to drown their sorrows after and that fateful day back in early March.
Now, according to the Times, it doesn’t seem like it is only the fans who will be feeling the effects of that fixture.
It is claimed that manager Mauricio Pochettino blames that loss on Belgian international, who allowed Michail Antonio to ghost past him and notch a winner late on.
The 26-year old was a major signing in the wake of Gareth Bale’s seismic departure to Real Madrid in 2013, though saw playing time limited this season as younger, more dynamic players, emerged.
Now, the former FC Twente winger is understood to have been made available for transfer at White Hart Lane as the club look to help raise funds to land a top quality striker.
