Spurs in pole position to land £100k-per-week title winner

Upon Jamie Vardy’s infamous snubbing of Arsenal earlier in this window, the Tottenham Hotspur fans in the Transfer Tavern were dancing on the pool tables.

With Leicester City having held of their challenge to nab the Premier League title, the White Hart Lane outfit aren’t best pleased about ongoings in the East Midlands.

Now, they could be set to welcome a title winner of their own.

According to the Sun, England international Danny Drinkwater has snubbed a new deal at the King Power Stadium.

A major part of their sensational title win last season, the 26-year old is believed to have rejected an £80k-per-week package, amid interest from North London.

While discussions are thought to be on going, as the Foxes plan a £100k-per-week package, the former Manchester United trainee could well have his head turned.

After failing to make the final 23-man England squad for Euro 2016, Drinkwater is said to harbour aspirations that playing for a so-called ‘big club’ could see him retain a place regularly.

Spurs fans, would you take Drinkwater? Can he get even better? Let us know below…
