The signing of Vincent Janssen earlier today had the Spurs fans who frequent the Transfer Tavern on their lunch break stumbling back to work after their celebrations.
Perhaps luckily for them, they hadn’t heard the news they could be closing in on a move for Mario Gotze until they popped back in for a post-work pint!
According to Italian journalist Emanuele Giulianelli, the 23-year old’s father has held talks with the club and has been impressed with what he has seen.
Now able to offer Champions League football, the North London outfit have been handed a boost due to the fact Borussia Dortmund could pull out of any deal.

The playmaker departed the club back in 2013 in acrimonious circumstances, leaving his boyhood charges for arch-rivals Bayern Munich.
As a result, the club’s fans are understood to be against bringing him back, reportedly giving Spurs the upper hand.
Liverpool, managed by Jurgen Klopp, have also been touted as a potential suitor should he leave Bayern Munich.
